To think as an artist in the Age of AI means maintaining the human ability to notice and assign meaning. AI acts as both collaborator and mirror, and it is also useful for generating starting points or expanding my ideas when we transform the intention and context into diverse sensory outcomes. While staying critical of AI's biases and threats to authenticity, such as copyright, data collection ethics, and environmental cost, our creativity can be expanded with AI as raw material, not as a replacement for artistic vision. Especially, the technical failures of AI can be used as a new creative opportunity, as explored in my zine, and creative failures can be dealt with by maintaining human final judgment. For ethical failures, we should work toward transparency about AI training and use.
